- 1 box Mrs. T’s® Classic Cheddar Pierogies, thawed
- 3 large eggs
- 1½ cups whole milk
- ½ cup heavy cream
- ⅓ cup plus ¼ cup brown sugar, packed and divided
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon, divided
- ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
- ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
- 3 tablespoons butter, melted
- Fresh strawberries, sliced, for garnish
- Bananas, sliced, for garnish
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Butter an 8x8-inch baking dish or casserole dish. Shingle pierogies in prepared baking dish, slightly overlapping one another.
- Whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, ⅓ cup of brown sugar, granulated sugar, vanilla, 1 ½ teaspoons cinnamon, nutmeg and kosher salt in a medium bowl until smooth. Pour custard mixture evenly over pierogies.
- Combine butter, remaining ¼ cup brown sugar and remaining ½ teaspoon of cinnamon in a small bowl and drizzle evenly over casserole.
- Bake uncovered until custard is just set in center and casserole is golden-brown, about 40-45 minutes.
- Remove from oven and let cool at least 10 minutes. Garnish with strawberries and bananas, and serve.
