Grilling Tip: To prevent sticking, always brush the foil on the grill with olive oil before placing the Pierogies on it. This will create a non-stick surface and make it easier to remove the Pierogies without tearing or sticking to the foil.

Enjoy your delicious and spicy BBQ grilled Pierogies with a tangy blue cheese or cool ranch dressing on the side!

Ingredients

  • 1 package of Mrs. T’s Classic Cheddar Mini Pierogies
  • 1 cup homemade spicy BBQ sauce (1 cup ketchup, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar, 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce, 1 tbsp Dijon mustard, 1 tsp each garlic powder and onion powder, 1/2 tsp hot sauce, Salt and black pepper to taste)
  • Olive oil for brushing
  • Blue cheese or ranch dressing for serving
  • Aluminum foil

Directions

  1. In a saucepan, combine all ingredients for BBQ sauce
  2. Whisk until well combined and sugar dissolves.
  3. Simmer over low heat for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Adjust seasonings to taste.
  5. Let cool and store in the refrigerator.
  6. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  7. Cut a large sheet of aluminum foil and fold up the edges to create a small rim. This will prevent the Pierogies from falling through the grill grates. Place the foil on the grill and brush it with olive oil to prevent sticking.
  8. Carefully place the Mrs. T’s classic cheddar Pierogies on the oiled foil. Make sure they are evenly spaced and not touching each other to allow for even cooking.
  9. Close the grill lid and cook the Pierogies for about 5 minutes per side, or until they are lightly browned and heated through. The exact cooking time may vary, so keep an eye on them to prevent burning.
  10.  While the Pierogies are grilling, prepare the homemade spicy BBQ sauce. You can use your favorite recipe or store-bought sauce and add some additional spices or hot sauce to make it spicier, if desired. Warm the sauce in a small saucepan or microwave.
  11.  Once the Pierogies are grilled to perfection, carefully remove them from the foil using tongs or a spatula.
  12.  Place the grilled Pierogies in a serving dish or platter and drizzle them generously with the spicy BBQ sauce. Toss them gently to coat each Pierogy evenly.
  13.  Serve the spicy BBQ grilled Pierogies hot with a side of blue cheese or ranch dressing for dipping. The creamy dressing will help balance the spiciness of the BBQ sauce.
