Pirates

Some baseball teams have racing presidents, some have sausages, but the Pittsburgh Pirates have pierogies – and locals wouldn’t have it any other way.  Since 2000, Mrs. T’s has sponsored the “Great Pittsburgh Pierogy Race,” which has become an iconic part of in-game entertainment for all Pirates baseball games at PNC Park.  Following the end of the 5th inning, the Pirates Pierogies (Pizza Penny, Bacon Burt, Cheese Chester, Jalapeno Hannah, Oliver Onion, Potato Pete or Sauerkraut Saul) take the field to run the 280-yard race around the ballfield. This year, consumers will be able to enter to win the opportunity to get on the field and be the finish line judge.
